Why donkey's milk?

Donkey's milk is nourishing, restructuring, softening and regenerating for the skin. It prevents sagging and preserves skin elasticity, reducing the risk of skin problems. It also has antibacterial properties. It can help relieve psoriasis and eczema: some people with psoriasis and eczema who have tried donkey’s milk soap won’t go back to their old soap for anything! Rich in vitamins A, B1, B2, B6, D, C and E, it is also a natural anti-aging solution.

Donkey’s milk – Popular since ancient times

Donkey's milk has been popular since ancient times, for both its cosmetic and medicinal properties. Legend has it that the Queen of Egypt, Cleopatra, often considered the most beautiful woman in history, took donkey milk baths to preserve her beauty and youth.

In Greece, it was none other than the father of medicine, Hippocrates, who praised donkey's milk. He prescribed donkey milk to his patients, particularly in cases of liver problems, edema, nosebleeds, poisoning, infectious diseases, for healing wounds and to relieve fever. This substance is a real miracle!

Why 100% natural products?

It is generally known that natural skin products are relatively safe. They can contain nutrients, such as antioxidants and vitamins, which are essential for the body while ensuring protection and hydration of the skin.

Why should some FLÂNEUSE products be kept refrigerated?

By now you will have understood that since its beginnings, Flâneuse’s mission has been to design beauty treatments with 100% natural ingredients of the highest quality to offer to its customers.

This mission is very close to our heart. The use of chemical preservatives is not an option which is why Flâneuse has decided to opt for natural and safe preservatives that require to keep some of its skincare products cool to optimize their duration of use.

While putting your beauty products in the fridge may seem inconvenient, you will be impressed with the results for these few extra steps. Just think of your moisturizer: kept cool, not only will it nourish your skin, but it will also tighten it, reduce redness, deflate the bags under your eyes and tighten pores. Wouldn’t you like to try it?

But don’t think for a minute that storing your beauty products in the fridge means invading the vegetable drawer or mixing yogurts, mayonnaise and anti-aging lotion!

You can dedicate a specific location to gather your products. For example, the fridge door seems ideal for isolating them from food products. And to avoid any confusion, especially if you have children, keep them in a box or a makeup bag.

We hope these tips and advices will make you want to try La Flâneuse's 100% natural facial treatments!

Rhassoul clay in our homemade mask sets! Why use it?

Rhassoul clay is extracted from Morrocco’s Atlas Mountains. Rhassoul (also called ghassoul) has been used traditionally for millennia by oriental women to gently take care of their hair and their bodies. In the East, rhassoul is a tradition passed down from mother to daughter, just like black soap and Argan oil. This clay is so respected in the care of women that it is part, like Henna, of wedding offerings. Very rich in provitamins, minerals and trace elements (iron, zinc, potassium, magnesium, sodium, silicon, phosphorus, etc.), rhassoul is a treasure of beauty.

Rhassoul is a 100% natural mineral clay that takes its name from the word "rassala" which means “to wash” in Arabic. By its "saponiferous" character, it actually contains foaming saponin (soap), allowing it to emulsify and wash without attacking the skin. This therefore makes it a remarkable natural cleanser, ideal for gently ridding the skin and hair of all impurities and imperfections, while protecting and beautifying them. This type of clay can be used as a delicate scrub for the body, but also as a mask for the face, hair and scalp or even as a shampoo.

Rhassoul has cleansing, absorbing, soothing, regenerating and protective properties. More broadly, it purifies the skin, clarifies its complexion and protects the hair to make it more resistant.

Calophyll oil and aloe to relieve couperose

Couperose or rosacea is a fairly common skin disease that mainly causes skin redness of the face, but also various other symptoms.

There are several subtypes of rosacea, which differ in severity from one individual to another. It is a chronic disease that evolves over several years.

To soothe the symptoms of this skin condition, we recommend washing your face with a very gentle and natural skin cleanser such as the very moisturizing and vitamin-rich sea buckthorn oil facial soap. Then, we strongly recommend using aloe gel for the face which contains, of course, aloe recognized for its calming and regenerative properties on the skin. Aloe vera gel stimulates the production of cells responsible for collagen renewal, fibroblasts. It therefore contributes to cell renewal and improves the elasticity of the epidermis and fights against its aging. This plant from the desert is also very rich in vitamins. It stimulates blood circulation and tightens the tissues by smoothing the skin. This gel also contains calophyll oil which has disinfectant properties. It also helps tissue regeneration and gives elasticity to the skin. It is healing, anti-inflammatory and stimulates blood circulation. For all these reasons, this oil is recognized in the natural treatment of couperose.

Rosacea, like many other skin diseases, cannot be cured permanently, but it is possible to significantly reduce the symptoms to improve your daily life!

How to moisturize and renew your skin before winter?

Winter is upon us and now is the perfect time to renew our skin and prepare it to face the cold by moisturizing it as much as possible. It is important to exfoliate the skin on a regular basis in order to remove dead skin and impurities. The deep cleansing of the skin allows it to be better moisturized. In order to do so, it is essential to use an adequate and very gentle exfoliant so as not to irritate and dry out the skin. This is why La Flâneuse has created its brand new exfoliating product which contains three essential elements: honey and pumice stone. (The exfoliator is available in store only, for now). What is wonderful about this exfoliant is that it is suitable for all skin types and even for people who have more problem skin (acne, eczema) or more sensitive skin, and who sometimes hesitate to use an exfoliant by fear that the product is too irritating. Here are some of the benefits of the three main ingredients in La Flâneuse exfoliator:

Honey is very moisturizing and nourishing for the skin. Rich in minerals, vitamins and amino acids, it has regenerative and antioxidant properties. It is not at all irritating and is very suitable for reactive and problem skin.

Pumice stone, known for its legendary lightness and porosity, comes from molten volcanic rock. Its impressive exfoliating properties to remove dead skin and soften the skin have been recognized since ancient times.

We recommend using the exfoliator to deep wash your skin once a week. Then, apply your cream to moisturize it well.

For optimal facial care, we invite you to try our clay masks once a month on your face. (*When using the clay mask, you don't need to exfoliate that week.) Clay also works small miracles on the skin. Our clay mask also helps to deeply cleanse, moisturize and renew the skin.

Sea buckthorn oil: a well-kept secret

Have you heard about sea buckthorn? This plant native to Europe and Asia is increasingly widespread in North America and actually adapts itself very well to Quebec’s climate. There is also an association of sea buckthorn producers in Quebec. Sea buckthorn berries are a beautiful bright orange, and they are used as much for their ornamental side as for their health and skin benefits. They are even used for their healing power to treat burns, ailments and skin wounds (external use). In traditional Asian medicine, they are used to treat digestive, cardiovascular and respiratory disorders as well as various skin and mucous membrane conditions (internal use).

These small berries, called sea buckthorn, are among the most nutritious and vitaminized of all plants. They are very rich in antioxidants and have a high content of omega 3 and 6 and saturated and unsaturated fatty acids which greatly contribute to skin renewal and act as an effective anti-aging agent. These elements also help improve the appearance of the skin and to moisturize it. It is interesting to know, especially for cold and arid climates like ours, that the high vitamin content of berries protects the skin from cold, fatigue and aging, and helps strengthen immunity in general. In short, sea buckthorn oil protects, maintains and heals the epidermis. It is therefore ideal for dry, mature and irritated skin.

With all of its incredible properties, which we are only just beginning to discover, it is no surprise that sea buckthorn oil is gaining popularity and is being used more and more in beauty products.

This is why FLANEUSE has a range of products based of sea buckthorn oil.
- Sea buckthorn face care soap
- Sea Buckthorn Anti-Aging Cream
- Sea buckthorn serum
- Sea buckthorn body oil

Just try it and you’ll be convinced!
